UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY
At CAF, we utilise cutting edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology to help our clients maximise the profitability of their projects. As the name suggests, UAV technology enables us to fly an unmanned aircraft (or drone) to photograph and survey large areas of land. This is useful for clients who want to quickly and accurately conduct crop yield assessments, plan drainage systems and undertake bulk earthwork surveys.
Precision Agriculture: Putting the power back into the farmer's hands
UAV technology is a cornerstone of our precision agriculture services. Clients regularly use our UAV services when making critical decisions during a crop’s lifecycle.
UAV technology enables farmers to achieve a real-time detailed analysis of their crops. Our drones are especially designed for agricultural applications and use state of the art technology to capture agriculturally significant images and data. When combined with in-field sampling, this can provide farmers with accurate yield assessments through which input vs output costs can be clearly assessed.
Here are just a few of the benefits that our UAV technology offers:

-
Quickly gather photographic and topographical information
-
Photograph up to 1,000 ha in a single 40-minute flight
-
Capacity to conduct monthly flights to accurately monitor crop heath
-
Create high resolution maps
-
Identify sections of crops that need treatment or closer examination
Precision agriculture allows us to create effective crop management plans which save on input costs and maximise yearly outputs. Our clients typically use this data for:
-
Disease assessment and control
-
Identify sections of crops that need treatment or closer examination
-
Land development
-
Pest detection
-
Precision variable spraying
-
Water and drainage systems
-
Yield assessments
Survey Mapping: rapid site surveys
Our UAV technology allows us to rapidly produce site surveys with high level photo imagery. This is especially useful for clients who want to identify feasibility routes for proposed infrastructure developments such as roads, drainage and sewer and water alignment projects.
UAV survey mapping provides accurate and cost-effective information for:

-
Bulk Earthworks Surveys – no need to shut the site down whilst survey being undertaken
-
Landfill and quarry site quantities
-
Accurate planning of overland drainage systems
-
Map a flood event to determine where problem areas exist.
