As Civil Engineer you will be working on a range of tasks to ensure completion of CAF’s approved scope. Tasks predominately include: Provide input into fee proposals and submissions Carry out drafting tasks using AutoCAD, Civil3D, Civil Site Design or equivalent Complete bill of quantities, design reports, etc Carry out management of small to medium projects as required from award through to completion of project scope o Attend Client meetings o Liaise with internal resources and external subconsultants/ subcontractors as required to ensure completion of project scope o Awareness of project budget and manages time and cost appropriately Assists Senior Engineers/ Project Managers complete inspections of work on site Provides input to Senior Engineers/ Project Managers on cost control and invoicing as requested

CAF work across a range of projects; residential, commercial, industrial, civil, agriculture, roads, drainage, etc. and require a Licenced Surveyor to undertake the following as required by our scope of works. Cadastral Survey Creation and lodgement of ePlans From time to time a Licenced Surveyor may also need to assist the Survey team with: Feature and level surveys Construction set out surveys As constructed surveys Preparation and uploading of 3D models for machine control 3D scanning and data processing Preparation and completion of data using AutoCAD/ Civil 3D The Licenced Surveyor will be required to work autonomously and be responsible for the survey component of a project from start to finish. They will be required to liaise with Clients on and off the site to ensure works are carried out in line with expectations including being available for site works as required. Flexibility to work away from home as required.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying or equivalent
Demonstrated experience as a Licensed Surveyor and licensed by the Victorian and or NSW board of Surveyors

Role Objectives :
As a Project Manager, your job will be to coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are
delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality. You will be the go-to person for everything involving
a project’s organisation, management, staffing, outcomes and timeline.
The types of projects you will be involved with:
Feasibility studies and cost estimates
Project due diligence assessments
Planning assessments, impact studies, planning permit applications
Small to large land developments – from concept to statement of compliance
Environmental/ Cultural Heritage assessments and investigations
Water infrastructure works with urban and rural water authorities
Industrial, commercial and large agricultural projects
Key Responsibilities :
Establish, manage relationships with client, stakeholder, subconsultants/ subcontractors and project
staff
Creation of project fee proposals and project cost estimates
Create and update project schedules, reports and required project documentation within CAF’s
corporate management system
Develop project scope and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical
feasibility
Design management through the completion of design reviews against the project brief and
constructability.
Manage safety in design process on internal and external design with the relevant stakeholders
Procurement of subconsultants/ subcontractors as required to ensure completion of project scope
Financial project management through the maintenance of budgets claims, variations and invoicing for
internal and external clients and subconsultants/ subcontractors
Coordinate project resources both internal and external
Carry out site inspections and supervision of site works according to project brief and OH&S
requirements
Organise, chair and complete minutes for Client and subcontractor meetings
Listen to project team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
Effective communication of project progress, issues and solutions to Clients and CAF Management
Maintain compliance with CAF Quality, OHS, Environmental, HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
Required Skills :

Your main role will be leading the completion of projects from concept through to detailed design for construction, across a variety of projects including preparation of as constructed drawings. Other aspects may include project management of site works as required.
Senior Engineers adopt a leading role within the team and are responsible for the deliverables and profitability of projects with moderate complexity.
Senior Engineers actively promote CAF to external clients and exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of engineering principles techniques and methods in order to achieve client solutions.
They are leaders within their teams, maintaining a high level of professionalism and adopting a coaching role for more junior staff working on the project.

Water Engineer

The Water Engineer will be assisting the Water Infrastructure Team across a variety of projects from concept to detailed design/ engineering, as constructed drawings and project close. Drafting and design tasks will be carried out using AutoCAD, Civil3D, Civil Site Design or equivalent. Other aspects may include project management of site works.
Key Responsilities
- Assist Senior staff with highly complex projects, as instructed.
- Manage moderately complex projects from beginning to end.
- Represent CAF at client meetings for assigned projects.
- Advise clients on technical solutions for projects with varying scope and complexity.
- Assist with the development of submissions for projects, in consultation with Senior staff.
- Brief, assign and check work of assisting engineers, draftspersons and/or technical / administrative assistants as required, throughout the project life.
- Exercise individual judgement and initiative in the application of engineering principles, standards, techniques and methods in order to achieve client solutions.
- Supervision of construction works, including inspection of work on site, responses to contractor queries and problem solve site issues.
- Provides regular work-in-progress reports to Senior staff.
- Ensures constant communication with colleagues, clients, project team etc (as appropriate), throughout the life of the project.
- Is aware of costs and constraints on projects and reports any inconsistencies to senior staff.
- Assist with developing new systems, procedures and processes in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
- Maintains compliance with CAF Quality, OHS, Environment and HR policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Report non-conformances to Senior staff as soon as they are discovered.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring of junior team members.
- Reports any likely business opportunities to Senior staff for follow up.
- Actively build personal network and promote CAF to external clients.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated Civil design exposure to water, sewer, drainage, pumps and associated infrastructure. - Understanding of water and wastewater treatment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Australian Standards and other industry design guidelines
- Demonstrated CAD experience and working knowledge, Civil 3D Site Design desirable.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Client relationship management skills
