ALLEN GALE

Ben Ross: Associate Civil Engineer

Allen is a Civil Engineer with over 45 years of experience in leading development, delivery, management and operation of water infrastructure in technical and management roles in Australia and internationally.  Allen has project managed the implementation of a wide range of water and other infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors in Australia, USA, Asia and the Pacific. His water industry knowledge is deep and well respected having provided advisory services to Western Australian Minister of the Environment on water industry structure in WA, as well as specialist advisory roles to the Hong Kong and Malaysian governments. Allen loves sailing and is turning his hand to golf in the later parts of his career.

BEN ROSS

As a Charted Professional Civil Engineer, Ben has over 16 years of experience in water infrastructure projects in south eastern Australia and the United Kingdom.  He has particular expertise in irrigation and potable water supply projects, including dams, wastewater and drainage.  Ben works extensively on water related infrastructure projects for civil, structural and hydraulic engineering developments, primarily in the roles of Design Engineer and Project Manager.

Amber is a highly qualified inspiring Health, safety, environmental & quality leader who has many years of experience in developing and implementing safety management systems ensuring that caf are compliant and meeting each requirement. Amber is focused on protecting our people, contractors, work sites to increase productivity and reducing incidents and risks. Amber is dedicated, with strong relationship building skills focused on gaining the knowledge and support to ensure that everyone gets home safely each night.

Bree Findlay: Accounts & Finance

Bree plays an integral role in CAF’s accounting and finance department keeping the books as well as CAF’s staff and directors in line with general administration. Bree is highly organised and loves a challenge.

Brent Sloan: Director | Senior Surveyor

DIRECTOR  |  SENIOR SURVEYOR

Brent has over 19 years' experience in the surveying industry and is director of CAF's survey division.  He possesses high level skills across a number of survey disciplines including feature, title and set-out survey for civil infrastructure projects.  Brent is passionate about surveying and is constantly developing the company's survey technology and systems to ensure CAF is at the forefront of innovation in the survey industry.  Brent is CAF's chief pilot flying the company's UAV's which are revolutionsing the survey sector.

Cameron Druitt CAF Consulting

Cameron is a qualified and experienced surveyor. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Geomatic Engineering at The University of Melbourne, Cameron has been active in the spatial industry for many years working across the construction, agriculture and land administration sectors. Since joining CAF in 2015, Cameron has put his skills and experience into practice across a variety of our projects including boundary definition surveys, construction set out, feature surveys and data processing. Cameron is a CASA-licensed UAV Pilot and enjoys embracing new technology within the spatial industry.

Cynthia is new to CAF bringing with her 20 years of technical experience in the fields of architecture, civil engineering and survey. She studied Architecture in the Philippines and worked for a New Zealand consultant in Brunei Darussalam before coming to Australia working at various consultancies including telecommunications, land development and water industry. Cynthia is an exceptional CAD team member producing plans, drawings and technical representations from data produced by civil engineering and survey software or manually sketched by CAF Designers, Surveyors & Engineers. Out of the office, she is passionate about her community involvement expressed through culture, arts and food.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

With an overseas Civil Engineering degree, Cyrus has 12 years’ experience abroad and locally in the field, design and construction.

He has worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential developments, capital works projects and irrigation, This experience has enriched his professional experience and knowledge in the field.

Cyrus has demonstrated his ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining a high-quality standard.

Darcy is a structural engineer who joined CAF as a student when completing his Batchelor’s Degree. Darcy has continued to gain experience with onsite design and construction, and he builds relationships and gains respect for his strong customer focus. He shows his strengths in steel design and concrete inspections and his passion for problem solving continues to lead him towards being a well-rounded structural engineer with broad experience in construction.

SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

David is new to CAF bringing over 25 years of experience as a Structural Design Draftsman.

His portfolio spans a diverse range of projects, including single-story and multi-story buildings across Australia and New Zealand. From reinforced concrete to precast and prestressed concrete, as well as steel construction, David’s expertise shines. Notably, he has also worked on projects in the commercial, processing, defence, wastewater, maritime, mining, and industrial sectors. His proficiency extends to drafting steel and concrete girder bridges—a testament to his comprehensive skill set.

DECLAN NABBS

SURVEYOR

Declan is a qualified surveyor with experience in road, rail, and underground mining survey projects. Declan worked as a FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) construction surveyor for three years in diverse and challenging environments.

His experience includes conducting topographic surveys, set outs, feature surveys for road, rail, and mining infrastructure projects.

Known for his attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work within integrated project teams, Declan has a proven track record of delivering high-quality surveying services on time.

Declan is a local, with a passion for continuous professional development and a commitment to excellence and staying current with industry best practices and technological advancements in surveying.

DEAN BRIGGS

GENERAL MANAGER

General Manager with over 14 years’ experience leading and managing project teams across Victoria and NSW in the infrastructure, building and civil works industries. 

Dean is effective at team leadership with management qualities enabling the ability to build exceptional working relationships and culture across project teams.

To our clients projects, personnel and the CAF team Dean provides valuable construction experience across many disciplines. With established safety and quality outcomes, delivered on time with system compliance proven by successful audit results across safety, quality and environment.

Dean builds and sustains healthy relationships with key stakeholders and clients through a strategic procurement approach, responsible commercial management, focused cost control and tailored reporting. Also ensuring adherence to good governance practices for project decision making.

James brings GIS (mapping), software development, analysis and consulting skills to CAF.  Over his many years in the spatial industry, James has gained experience with many different computer systems and software, and has worked with various local government departments and other organisations.  No computer problem is too difficult for James, as he manages to “follow the logic” to find best solutions in complex situations and leave copious documentation in his wake.

Jamie has recently re-joined CAF after 2 years working in Metropolitan NSW in the construction industry.

He has over 12 years’ experience in surveying, residential, structural and civil design across a large variety of government and private clients in Victoria and NSW.

Throughout his experience, he has demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment and establish excellent communication skills through liaising with relevant authorities and clients.

PROJECT MANAGER

Joseph is a Civil Engineer with experience in irrigation, drainage, floodplain and potable water supply projects. He has a range of project experience including lead designer, design manager and project manager and has delivered a number of large and complex design projects. He has shown his ability to manage projects both on time and on budget and is able to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders. Joseph also has experience managing construction contracts, having held the role of Superintendent for a number of major construction projects for Goulburn Valley Water.

TECHNICAL OFFICER / DRAFTSPERSON

Justin has over 8 years of experience in architectural / structural building design and drafting across residential, rural and commercial.

Justin's skills include producing detailed drawings with 3D Models and integrating with the survey and civil teams to establish site setout and co-ordination of buildings.

Justin has great attention to detail, is a team player and has a can do attitude.

KELLAN ROBINSON

Kellan is currently working with CAF while also undertaking a Cert IV in Survey and Spaital Services. Kellan has come to CAF from a landscaping background and is eagerly learning all things survey in his limited time in the field. Kellan has been involved in many types of survey disciplines including setout, feature and drafting work in fields such as construction, engineering and agriculture.

Krishna is a qualified Civil Engineer. He completed his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Nepal before coming to Australia to pursue his master's degree in engineering management. With more than 2 years of industry experience he has already got his accreditation from Engineer’s Australia. Krishna has brought his experience working in residential, structural, and civil design from planning, drafting to construction.

Throughout his career, Krishna has demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment and establish excellent communication skills through liaising with relevant Authorities and clients.

MANAGER - AGRIBUSINESS

Lachlan started his professional working career at CAF having completed an Advanced Diploma in Agriculture (Dairy) at Dookie. His keen interest in agriculture having grown up on a family dairy farm in Leitchville led to him becoming experienced in design and documentation of farm development plans incorporating irrigation, drainage and detailed design of pump and storage infrastructure. Lachlan is now CAF’s accredited effluent management designer for major agricultural projects.

Leigh grew up in the regional Victorian town of Shepparton before leaving to study Civil Engineering at Monash University. Leigh has 18+ years’ experience in project and construction management, design, investigation and documentation across a variety of sectors in the engineering industry. His expertise ranges from major international airports, motorways, water infrastructure, local council, water authority and land development, agricultural, industrial processing and mega dairy projects. Leigh’s skills include business development, client and stakeholder management, reporting, procurement, project management, contract administration and construction supervision.

MAHINDA VITHANAGE

Mahinda has a impressive resume of working as a Surveyor for nearly 40 years.

Mahinda has worked abroad for 18 years and in Australia for 20 years on a wide range of Engineering Surveys (Feature Surveys, Setout work etc.) and Cadastral Surveys (Crown Surveys, Acquisition Surveys, Re-establishment Surveys etc.)

Mahinda became a Licensed Surveyor in 2009 and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the CAF Survey Team.

NICK YOUNGHUSBAND

Nick Younghusband: Civil Engineer

Nick originally landed at CAF as a student engineer from Latrobe University in Bendigo during his summer and mid semester holidays. Now well beyond graduation Nick has proven his capability on a range of projects and disciplines across the company incorporating civil road and drainage design, irrigation modernisation, pipeline design, earthworks design and cost estimation. Having assisted CAF’s survey team through a couple of major winter projects, Nick has developed advanced ability to understand and apply data collection and collation to project design. Recently Nick has been part of some large civil road and drainage projects further advancing his design, document preparation and client liaison skills.

Noah is a Civil Engineering student studying at RMIT. Noah has demonstrated a keen eye for detail and a thirst for knowledge that will see him succeed throughout his engineering career. Working across both the Agribusiness and Civil teams, he is learning about all aspects of a project lifecycle from project inception to delivering a fully designed product.

Rajeev Balendra, a dedicated surveyor with over 8 years of industry experience with a Diploma of Surveying at RMIT. His expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of surveying tasks, including subdivisions, set-outs, as-constructed, re-establishments, and feature surveys. Rajeev's precision and attention to detail have significantly contributed to various projects, demonstrating his deep understanding of spatial dimensions and land use. His commitment to delivering accurate and reliable results has made him a valued member of the CAF team. Rajeev's proficiency in modern surveying techniques and tools ensures that his work not only meets but often exceeds project requirements.

RYAN AQUINO

Ryan is a Civil Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree from California State University, Long Beach, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of Auckland.

He brings over 9 years of experience to the table, having worked on a diverse range of land development and water and sewer infrastructure projects in New Zealand. His experience spans across all stages of a project, from initial concept to final construction.

Ryan recently joined CAF with 6 months local experience and is eager to further enrich his diverse technical and leadership skillset to Civil, Agribusiness, and Water Infrastructure projects.

SHAN GREGORY

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

Shan is the dedicated CAF’s Administrator with years of experience managing admin functions in both large and small offices.

She has her head around numerous work functions from HR to IT and beyond, all while providing non-stop assistance to staff and customers alike.

Shan is tireless in her support to our Directors and General Manager, who rely on her invaluable efficiency. She has expert-level proficiency with our computer software and we all rely on her to maintain schedules, oversee meetings, and keep the office running smoothly.

Shannon is a Civil Engineer with an Associates Degree from USQ. He joins CAF with 17 years of Local Government experience across NSW and Victoria covering roles in Civil Engineering and Engineering, Construction and Asset Management. Shannon’s background in multiple discipline gives him a great understanding of civil projects from inception to completion, with particular experience in roads and related infrastructure projects.

BUILDING  DESIGNER

Tom comes from a design based background.

After finishing his Advanced Diploma in Building & Design (architectural) Tom worked as an Architectural Building Designer / Draftsman for 3 years in both Melbourne & Shepparton.

Tom’s creative background is what drove his career into architectural design however he is now exploring his knowledge further by joining CAF to work as a Civil & Structural Designer where he will be working on a range of projects which involve both Civil & Structural works. Tom’s key skill sets involve eye for detail, Civil, Structural & Architectural Building Design, planning & drafting.

PROJECT MANAGER

Tom Lyle CAF Consulting

Tom has around 15 years experience as a Project Manager.  Tom began his Project Management experience in mining.  He has managed a range of projects including the Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) which is a state of the art five-storey $50m building.  As well as the Cosgrove Landfill Site which was a $38m project.
